... its clear to me that Mr Berggruen sold an estate to the State of Berlin that had been carefully selected and not necessarily to the positive of the State. I liked Dora Maar and on the first floor 4 rather cubist pieces, otherwise its...More

If you like Picasso you can' t miss this museum. There is a great collection from the different period of the artist. Note that on Sat. and Sun. the museum open at 11am.

We really enjoyed our visit here. This is a relatively small museum (you can see it all in one visit) that used to be a private collection. Over 120 Picasso works spanning his whole career. Not all masterworks, but very interesting regardless. Also works by...More

A Nice small museum with about 100 paintings by Picasso, as well as paintings by Matisse, Cézanne , Paul Klee and Marc Chagall plus a few sculptures by Giocametti.

The collection is not very distinguished. Picasso is the best represented, and there are a few fine works, but hardly worth the trouble of a visit.

Heinz Berggruen’s collection, an avid art collector, shows pieces by Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Braque and Giacometti. The core exhibition entitled ‘Picasso and his Times’ dedicates three floors to his painting, sculpture and drawings. The ticket also gives entrance to the Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection on the other...More

The Gallery is opposite Schloss Charlottenburg and next to the Brohan Museum. Heinz Berggruen was a Berlin Jew who had fled the country in 1933; he made friends with Picasso and was an important collector and art dealer. It's a lovely museum with works by...More

The museum is 10-15min drive from Tegel airport. It is easy to miss the entrance: a random, closed, wooden door. It is also easy to miss parts of the exhibition as the museum is composed of two (linked) buildings and has an unusual shape, so...More
