I had read about things to do in Rothenburg and knew I wanted to stop by St Jakob’s Church. I highly recommend renting the audio for 2 Euro to get the real history of the church. Make sure to go upstairs to view the beautiful...More

definitely take the time to see the wood carving of the last supper upstairs, wow its beautiful, and old. Everything is so mind blowingly old in this town and in this beautiful church. Its worth the small feel to go in, and take it in,...More

There are so many things to see and photograph both outside and inside of this church. The highlight for me was the wood altar carved by Tilman Riemenschneider. Make sure you look at the picture on the wall to your left so you can see...More

Beautiful church. Take a moment to collect the history and simply beauty. The tall and some stained windows. The wooden icon, paintings, arch’s and altars upstairs and downstairs. Take a breathing .... Think of the way it was .... Photos representative.

We stopped in for a quick look during our town walk. The Altar of the Holy Blood is very impressive but the main part of the church is also pretty.

The beautiful church dates back to the fourteenth century and is home to many beautiful stained glass windows and wood carvings including the Christmas boat and the famous holy blood altarpiece. Make sure you visit the small altar on the first floor as well.

Beautiful church with amazing wood carvings. Make sure to take the audio tour. The stories behind the artworks are wonderful. The alter upstairs is not to be missed!

Never become weary of Euopean church interiors or you just might miss a gem like this one: Altar of the Holy Blood by Fredrich Herlin which was produced in Rothenburg between 1499 and 1505. This is a pilgrim’s destination. Pilgrim’s shells are on display in...More
