The museum is wonderful. The museum café is also beautiful with an outdoor garden seating area and friendly service. This is a sit-down dining cafe. The menu is varied and Fruhstuck (breakfast/brunch) is lovely. The Monday-Friday menu offerings are affordable. So consider planning a visit...More

I would reccommend dedicating at least an hour or two to be able to appreciate the history of the city and the area presented in this museum.

This is an excellent historical museum of the Regensburg area. There are sections on fossil finds, the Roman era, and the medieval time. The cost for adults was 5 Euro per person. All of the print is in German, so they have audio players for...More

This is a perfect example of why we travel. Looking for a particular church, misreading the map, and thinking we had stumbled upon an alternate entrance to "the" church. We were in the wrong place at just the right time. Inside this unassuming building was...More

This museum has an excellent collection and it includes access to a Gothic church. The negative is that the signage is all in German so those of us who do not read German don't get as much out of the visit as we would like....More

Parts of this are a real discovery. If you are interested in Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman or Saxon history and archaeology, these galleries are very impressive. The later history is not - they've tried to jazz it up for younger visitors and the result...More

This is a quality museum, but if you are an English speaker with no German, the English audio guide is essential, as there is not a word of written English after you enter the museum.

The museum has many wonderful exhibits - also tucked into magazine holders close to most entrances to galleries are English translations. The museum cafe is tasty as well with a great view of the courtyard (or eat in the courtyard on pretty days).

Very good exhibition of Roman history from this area. That was the main reason for my visit. And I was pleasantly surprised. Well presented. It's only in German but you can rent English commentary. If you're interested in history it is definitely worth to visit....More

We really enjoyed this museum and actually didn't get through all of it before it closed. The fee (5 euros) is very reasonable, so if you don't speak German, pay an extra 2 euros for the audio translation. It was very well done, and when...More
