First there was an upward walk to the alley. Once there there was nothing to see. It was 10AM and nothing was open no art displayed. Very disappointing.

If you are interested in viewing local artists and their galleries, the Artists' Alley may be of interest. Our guide made a big deal of the painted cobblestones. It left me cold.

I visited in a Thursday & went back on a Friday - those that were open show cased their talents. Definitely worth visiting with some interesting buys.

The shops were not opened when we went down the alley, but much of the art displayed in the windows was grand. I would recommend to make Passau an overnight stop if you can, as it is a neat, quaint little town.

I happened across the Art Ally quite by mistake. I noticed the painted cobblestones and decided to investigate. I found a variety of artisans displaying their creations. There appeared to be something for everyone. It was a pleasant surprise.

Our guide told us local school children come here to decorate this alley. In here, you can also see the water marks from the various floods in this city

We stumbled across this alley and we loved it. Great place for walking and photos. We didn't buy anything but there are shops here.

We had been on a guided tour of the city of Passau and then later had time to explore on our own. We went back through Artists' Alley so we could have more time looking in the nice shoppes.

As we disembarked from the cruise ship, we went down the Riverwalk and hit the street locally know as Artist’s Alley, lots of small shops hosting both sales and manufacturing of small items. Interesting to stop and watch local artists. Bought some really nice items...More
