They’ve fixed up the building quite a bit after the big flood of 2013. It is neat to see all the high water marks on the building by the door and imagine the amount of water going through. The town is beautiful with some quaint...More

Just a quick view of the building exterior on a walking tour of the city. Very enlightening to see the marker at the edge of the tower showing the different heights of Danube floodwaters over the past 516 years. The neo-Gothic tower built 1889-1892 has...More

Wonderful structure / building. The Christmas market was located within a very short distance. The inside of the Town hall was ok, but the location was great for shopping area and market. Great photo opportunities.

A typical Rathaus for southern Germany. You will walk past it on your way around town, but not really worth spending any extra time.

This building houses a large glockenspiel as well as government offices. If you have the time wait for the glockenspiel to play. The area has been a flood zone as late as 2013, hard to understand that in this day and age. It was the...More

During our Viking River cruise, we started in Passau and saw the Old Town Hall as part of our walking tour. The building is interesting and they keep track of the highest flood levels on the wall of this building.

Only saw the outside of the building as time was against us on our guided tour. Very impressive building with exterior paintings along its length. Most notable point of interest is the high water levels marked on the wall which indicate the depth of the...More

Town hall dating from the 14th century, this building houses a large glockenspiel as well as government offices. Classic architecture. Has been able to withstand several floods of the Danube, as witnessed by the markings on the side wall. There are some interesting large paintings...More
