This is one of the largest theatres in Germany, built from 1903 to 1905 in Art Nouveau style by the architect Heinrich Seeling. We did not go inside, but according to our guide, Ruth Hapke, during the Nazi Rallies, on the first day, Hitler would...More

Lovely building with great acoustics ( if you avoid the very top balcony) Decent prices, more than eastern Europe (Kiev is the cheapest I have found so far) but cheaper than London opera. The opera company is great, with a very good orchestra, I saw...More

I didn't attend an opera show inside as long as opera is not quite my cup of tea.But it's impossible not to remain impressed by this wonderful majestic building. It's one of the most old buildings in town, with magnificent architecture.

Unfortunately I could watch an opera concert in this place, but only by entering the main hall is already something nice. The place is huge, all luxury decorated, fency details take place all over the walls and stairs. Great.

Went to a wonderful performance of LaBoheme last night in the opera house in Nurnberg. Old and delightful bldg with wonderful acoustics. Center seats are best as the box seats above the orchestra pit are somewhat restricted in viewing the full stage.

Wanted to buy a gift voucher for the opera as it is a fantastic opera house. Usually I could only say positive things about the opera. I went there with my 5 month old baby. Walked to the front and there are a few steps...More

Beautiful opera house which far exceeded our expectations in all respects. We arrived on the off-chance and were delighted to get good tickets at a fraction of the price you would pay in Brussels or Paris, and then enjoyed an excellent performance of Berlioz's Damnation...More
