Located in an impressive old building in the centre of Munich, it was originally a monastery apparently but now houses a slightly odd collection of stuffed animals and other bits and pieces. The lady on reception was quite friendly and the entrance fee was quite...More

The girlfriend and I went today, wasn't impressed with the amount of plastic exhibits there, and there were alot of electrical interaction stations that either didn't work or were just turned off. Only good thing I liked there were the intricately carved guns on the...More

Bavaria is an area in which hunting & fishing are very much part of the culture. The fishing section had recently been upgraded & was genuinely' child friendly', as opposed to dumbed down. In particular the computer generated inter-active stream (complete with fish) that you...More

We are interested in learning about new places and cultures and find museums an excellent way to do it. This museum does not look very spectacular from the street, however the entrance is very misleading. Most of the tourists we saw near the building merely...More

Spent a wonderful hour walking through this extraordinary museum. Set in a fabulous building providing insight on how hunting was performed. Displays of equipment, including rifles, bows, horns, harnesses, etc. Hugh portraits of hunting scenes and large stuff animals. Incredible, a must see museum.

Better drop in on a rainy day if you have time to kill or children to entertain. The exposition would be worthy probably for a natural history museum. Sorry I could not be impressed. Ardent hunters might disagree, though.

A lovely specialised museum spread over 3 floors; fish, wild animals, fossils and a fulfilling visit as an English only speaker. Today (29 July 2017) when I went there was a dedicated area for bees, where considerable effort has been undertaken to describe hive mentality,...More
