Large plaza surrounded by three beautiful buildings built in the greco-roman style. Two of these are actually ancient Greek/Roman museums one featuring statues and the other historical antiquities and artefacts. Tickets are not expensive and grant access to both museums. Other than that, it is...More

This is a very historic site and worth a visit. It's where the Munich agreement between Hitler and Neville Chamberlain about Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland was signed. There's currently a music school there.

I saw it from the hop on hop off bus - didn't see much sense getting out and walking around it as we got quite close from the bus and it was easy to see and appreciate from there. G.

Although it dates back to the monarchy, Hitler used this space for his rallies and ceremonies. Nearby are two Nazi-era buildings that survived (one used as a music conservatory).

Until going to Munich's Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism (NS Dokuzentrum), I didn't know that this tranquil and unassuming square had a dark past. Located in Munich's cultural center, an area with many outstanding museums, Konigsplatz or King's Square, was once home...More
