I was so surprised to find out this was the “new” Rathaus! It looks at least 4 to 5 hundred years old!

Nice vibe in this area, attracts both locals and tourists. The glockenspiel tower show is nice but overrated.

Dominating the whole of one side of Marienplatz, this is a real gothic confection of a building. Key attraction is the carillon and its two level of moving figures (every hour, on the hour). Extremely photogenic place!

Again, a fun place to visit and wait for the clock tower to do its spin. Since, most likely you'll be in this area, wait for it.

It looks like a gothic cathedral from the exterior but then it was a town hall. Daily musical glockenspiel would light up the parade with their dance and music. Tho it is just a very basic or boring stuff to watch but then since you...More

Imposing building in Marienplaz which houses the moving musical glockenspiel. The entry way under the clock leads to the inner courtyard which is also worth a view. Beautiful.

Taking an elevator to the fourth floor, you reach the entrance to the Tower (Turm) after taking another elevator. So, you don't have to walk up 300 steps and the view is almost as good as from the top of St. Paul Church across the...More

It is in Marienplatz which is a busy square with several other tourist attractions and a shopping area. There are cafes and restaurants including one in the Rathaus itself.
