A lovely statue which is hidden away. We stumbled across it by mistake. You walk across an open park/space and there she is, an 18m high bronze statue of the patron saint of Bavaria. Definitely worth a visit

We walked here as I had seen pictures online and thought it looked beautiful. We went in January when it had snowed and icy so the highest parts were closed to the public. I can imagine that during October fest this is a brilliant place...More
A very tall, impressive statue and a beautiful complex, but from 15th October the inside of the statue is closed for visitors, until March or April, not sure. Go anyway, to see also the place where Oktoberfest is held (in front of this statue).
Oktoberfest is full of people and venues with multiple locations and entrances. This location offers a clear landmark that is easy to find and typically not to crowded but occasionally hosts events during the festival.
I only managed to see the Bavaria statue when the Oktoberfest opened on the Saturday. Very impressive monument but forms part of the grounds when Oktoberfest on and was closed to public until the opening.
This is worth going to if you are nearby, like from the Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum (Transportation). You can pay 3 euros and go to the top of the statue to view downtown Munich or the Octoberfest grounds. It's a nice area to walk as this...More
