But the Glockenspiel show is very fast. It's old fashioned but still worth seeing. The townhall is beautiful.

This is absolutely charming. Two or three times a day, figures rotate while the clock chimes. If you can, read beforehand what's happening--what the figures represent--and you'll appreciate the performance more. Wait until the cuckoo bird on top chirps and flaps its wings--that signals the...More

If you visit Munich you must take the time to see the Glockenspiel in the New Rathaus in Marienplatz. It plays every day at 11am and noon, and 5pm March-October. Lasting only 15 minutes or so, it is a multitiered cuckoo clock like performance since...More

Just walking around this area you can get lost by it beautiful buildings and art work. There lots of people but that make the beauty of the area the crowd and the architecture.

I need to say that I did not go in to this attraction, but rather viewed it from the outside as part of my visit to Munich’s Old Town. I highly recommend people walking around, shopping and dining in this fun area of Munich.

We watched this at 11am and at 12 on another day. I believe it also plays at 5pm and 6, but not sure. It is very nice, but most people forget to wait for the golden cuckoo at the end of the show!

We were sitting at the nearby Donisl café when i heard a soft carillon music. Looked up and there it was coming out of this Glockenspiel tower on the corner of the Rathaus. Very pleasant indeed

This unmissable spot is full of life, both day and night. The best part of this place in the evenings are the presence of buskers. The dining scene here is also vibrant. During my stay in Munich, my day tours ended here. It was nice...More

There is an elevator on the left hand side as you go thru the main gate. this takes you to the 3rd or 4th floor where you can pay to take a different elevator to the observation deck
