Our group of 28 took a tour of the Prinzregententheater before dining in the on-site Gartensaal restaurant and seeing a delightful performance of Haydn's Orlando Paladino. With seating for about 1100, the theater was designed to Richard Wagner's specifications, so every seat has a good...More

The Prinzregententheater is a versatile and acoustically more than satisfactory 19th-century building, which can be used for opera, concerts, and recitals. We were here tonight for an evening of songs by Brahms, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov by the bass Guenther Groissböck, owner of a splendid...More

The theater is nicely located in Munich and stays a place of choice for a nice and romantic evening. The shows I've seen there are great.

We visited several times as part of the Opera Festivals in Munich. The building itself is very nice, even if you don't have a performance, it is worth to visit.

We saw "Der Bettelstudent" (the student-beggar) and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the building, apart from the operetta which was great. My german is not good enough to understand all the jokes, especially in a song with obviously many references to modern topics. But even...More

This is a concert hall that does double duty for opera. We attended a fine performance of Ariadne auf Naxos, with Eva-Maria Westbroek in the title role and a superb supporting cast. Kent Nagano conducted the production by Robert Carsen, who seems to be a...More

The Prinzregenten theatre is at Prinzregenten Platz which is a station on the U4 U-Bahn line which goes through Odeonplatz and Hauptbahnhof. (Though sometimes after a performance one has to change at MaxWeberPlatz) The building is unusual as it is unbroken rows in a kind...More
