Mary’s Bridge over Poellat Gorge is arguably the best location from which to view Neuschwanstein Castle. You cannot take a bad picture from this viewing spot—every shot comes out picturesque and perfect. If you cannot get into the castle itself, the view from here is...More

Visited by accident via RIVIERA TRAVEL's Neuschwanstein excursion. As others have said, it's worth the extra 15 minutes uphill slog from the castle, not only for castle photos, but also to see the view from the top of the Poellat river gorge. It took me...More

The best place to get a great photo of Neuschwanstein castle. Really high bridge walk that is exhilarating and beautiful. Amazing views of the landscape and rugged and wild environment. Don't miss this!

This is one of the most idyllic settings on a nice day. The bridge can get a bit crowded but it's worth walking up here just to see the breathtaking view. A must.

We were hoping to see the Marienbruke but it is closed until at least the middle of November 2015 for restoration. The surrounding footpaths are also shut. If you plan to visit the bridge you would do well to check local web sites to confirm...More

After you have walked up to the Marien bridge to see Neuschwanstein, walk down thru this lovely gorge to look up at the castle. Wear good shoes!

The landscape is better than the castle itself, yes in my opinion the castle is too much of fake (even among Ludwig II castles) The landscape and touring around is anyway amazing and you have the best views of the castle anyway

In winter it is not possible to take the little passage going down to the gorges (it is just before the bridge) but you can have a good look at it going on Mary's bridge which is a small hike (10-20 minutes depending on your...More

We saw this gorge when we visited Neuschwanstein Castle and Mary's Bridge in Hohenschwangau, Bavaria. You can look down into the gorge and also out over Mary's Bridge and see the magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle (a beautiful castle that some people would say was a 'fairy...More
