Parked easily with free on street parking in Garmisch. In high season advisable to arrive a good 30 mins before train departs as the guards only allow the correct number of visitors though to platform. Train journey pretty through to Eibsee where we changed to...More

We bought tickets for Zugspitze and the Garmisch-Classic and took the train to Zugspitzplatt. A lovely train ride with some stunning views, especially of Eibsee. From there we took the cable car up to the top of Zugspitze and came down by the super fast...More

We left Garmisch on the first train at 8:15, and glad we did. Later trains were very crowded. We got off at the Eibsee and took the Gondola up to the Zugspitze. Cost was 52 euros and worth every bit. A great experience.

Travel to the peak was made easy due to this Cog railway. Worth a time and money spent for people who would like to see the nature.

Continues to be a must-do every time we visit GAP. Went with the 2-peak combi-ticket (67Euro) that gets you up/down Zugspitze and then on the Garmish-Classic up to Alpspix on Alpspitzbahn. Lots of improvements in order at the summit including a new restaurant. The new...More

Had our free ticket from the Eibsee Hotel (another nice touch) so we caught the Cog Train from Eibsee to Garmisch on a Sunday afternoon, the train was packed with tourists, it was slow but hell who wants to rush when the scenery is absolutely...More
