Parked easily with free on street parking in Garmisch. In high season advisable to arrive a good 30 mins before train departs as the guards only allow the correct number of visitors though to platform. Train journey pretty through to Eibsee where we changed to...More

We left Garmisch on the first train at 8:15, and glad we did. Later trains were very crowded. We got off at the Eibsee and took the Gondola up to the Zugspitze. Cost was 52 euros and worth every bit. A great experience.

Right behind the Garmisch trainstation, is the "Zugspitzbahn" station. You buy your ticket and board the train there. It also stops at "Hausberg", but there is no ticket office/mashine there, so you'll need to have bought... More
