beautifull lake with a lot of smal villages around it and 2 small island inside the lake.Every day a lot of tourists reach this lake and spent 1 or 2 days too reach all the villages there.great view..

Beautiful clear lake. Take a boat trip to Fraueninsel and Herreninsel and enjoy the beautiful views. Have lunch, walk around the island and visit the convent on Frauen insel. Visit king Ludwig II Schloss Herrenchiemsee at Herreninsel. Easy walks so very suitable for kids.

The ferry to Schloss Herrenchiemsee is a nice short ride to the island...beautiful snow capped peaks in the background. The docks at Prien have a nice coffee shop and the piers and boats keep a handy schedule.

We caught the ferry from Prien Am Chiemsee and it takes you several islands on the lake including the Schloss Herrenchiemsee which is one of Ludwig 2nd fairy tale castles. well worth a visit

Hi Vidi_25, I am not sure about the trains. Best is to check on the internet or at the train station. I recommend to go by car. It's an easy drive and you can stop everywhere u like. There are many nice things to see a d... More
