Park at the cap park at the bottom for free and grab the railway to the top. They come every 10 mins and it’s a super steep rise to the top - impressive

Stunning views, well worth the small price of the train journey! Lovely little traditional bar/restaurant at the top. Good value, lovely atmosphere! One downside was the miserable bus driver who told us not to bother as the train wasn’t running! So glad we ignored his...More

Pity cable car was closed for maintenance as would have loved to go to the very top. We still enjoyed a lovely walk in the woods.

For some awesome views of the places all around, this is a must do. And if you visit in winter, the funicular ride itself is an experience. Snow topped conifers line the sides of the rails. It looks spectacular!

The day we visited the place was so cold and windy up there that we couldn't even exit the funicular station! But the up/down hill route through the forest is so beautiful that it definitely deserves a visit

As it was November, there was a lot of wind and fog covered most of the views, so better go there when it is not raining or foggy. We took bus number 205 from the Burda museum stop, it's a 15 minutes ride or so....More

Hi We took a direct bus from the train station to Merkurwald. It runs once every hour if I remember correctly. We spent 20-25 mins waiting for the direct bus instead of taking one to the city centre. On the way back, we got... More
