To do ! Breathtaking view of Lake Annecy often accompanied by a paragliding ball 🪂
We did it late in the evening as the sun set! Top 👌 and we had a meal at the farm restaurant where we ate the famous potato fritters 😋

The game is worth the candle !
A free bus ride and a bit of a steep climb but what a view and what a spectacle!
Everything is magnificent and we could spend hours looking at it!
Paragliding takeoff every 30", panoramic view of the lake, food and toilets nearby, in short, the best 👍
To do without moderation

There is a good network of marked paths above Talloires. We enjoyed the walk up to the Angon waterfall and then across the top to the St Germain church.
Although there is also a good lakeside path which is supposedly for walkers or cyclists, it is very busy with cyclists who seem to operate with a sense of entitlement and are reluctant to slow even when common sense would suggest that’s what they need to do!
The higher level paths were far less chaotic and largely free of such issues!

Forclaz (Pronounced 'Forcla', because apparently, in Haute-Savoie, we don't pronounce the last letter 😉) Located at an altitude of 1147m, this real natural belvedere will allow you to enjoy a superb panoramic view of the Lac d' Annecy! From Annecy, it takes 20 km, via Menthon-Saint-Bernard, or around half an hour... If you want to sit down for a small meal or something else, don't hesitate to take advantage of the superb terrace from the 'Balcony of the Lake'.
Coordinates: 45° 48′ 30″ N - 6° 14′ 41″ E.

Splendid view of Lake Annecy. Cover well because even in this season the snow is on the peaks. From there you can see the entire extent of the lake. Pretty souvenir shops with everything you need to enjoy.

Get to this destination early if you hope to get a parking space close by in the height of summer . We are older so it took us two tries before we got there early enough to find a convenient parking spot. It is quite a serious hike up to the top to watch the paragliders but so worth it.
Having a nice lunch at one of the two nice restaurants at the base of the hill is the perfect rewards for your efforts.

A long twisting climb in a car (or a real workout on a bicycle) brings you to a spectacular view over Lake Annecy and its surrounding mountains. A number of restaurants - which are not too expensive - have viewing terraces. Nb all but two restaurants involve a walk up steep slopes.
The view is only interrupted by the thrill seekers floating past in a tandem parascend from above. They sometimes fly so close that you could be heard by them (if you shouted). Various operators offer the parascending experience and they do have kiosks here: however you probably will need to make an advance booking. (Allow one hour either side of your 20 minute flight slot)
The Col de la Forclaz is spectacular. Another and greater thrill is to climb even higher (4x4 vehicle and/or walking boots) to La Tournette.

On a sunny day after the rain has cleared the air, this place is simply stunning. There are good views in many places, but the best experience comes at the paragliding launching pad, some 800 metres further on, and worth every step of the extra 130m climb in height. Take a flask of coffee and some sandwiches or pastries and enjoy a wonderful picnic, watching para-gliders launch one after the other and looking out over the beautiful lake. Its the best view of the whole lake possible. The drive too, is an experience.

We, a family with 2 kids explored Annecy and had planned for paragliding. We booked with Airmax Parapent who had their office here at Col De la Forclaz, Montmin. This place is popular for paragliding in Europe. From the downtown Annecy we reached here by car in 40 min. There are many tourists visiting here. Restaurant facilities are there. We see many trekkers. Breathtaking views of the Lake Annecy and the entire mountain ranges. I noticed people watching and taking videos at the point where paragliders takeoff. Such a wonderful experience. I would recommend this Airmax Parapent for those who want to try and others never miss coming to this place when you are in Annecy.
