You can pick up excellent do-it-yourself at the reception of the Musée Gadagne (ask if you don't come across it, everyone knows it in the area), or at the Tourist Office on Place Bellecour. As you stroll, look up at the architecture - hand-carved stone...More

Walking around in this part of Lyon is like going back in time. The narrow streets, the old houses, the Traboules - the speciality shops and much more. Not to forget the Bouchons serving old fashioned Lyonaise dishes.

Wander the streets, enjoy the architecture, have a glass of wine and some charcuterie. Wander the hidden passages, check out the churches, have a sorbet. Wander some more through the streets and passages and find a place for lunch/ dinner and some more wine.

The old part of Lyon is full of shops, bouchons, and more - touristy but also with an authentic feel. Some very good food at some of the bouchons (Lyonnaise for bistro) in the area. Close to the Saone River - very scenic.
