Another impressive building - really enjoyed walking around Lyon - it far exceeded expectation. A self-guided walking tour is really easy to put together and visit multiple attractions. A great day.

This seems to be one of the centers of the city where architecture, parks, shopping, restaurants and people meet. Almost an island, it seems to be one of the hearts of the action. This is a good place to stay....

The Presqu’île is the soul of Lyondf. Extending from the foot of the Croix Rousse hill to the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône rivers, it has a wealth of cafés, restaurants, luxury shops, department stores, banks, government buildings, and cultural institutions. The 1st...More

"The in between bit".Fortunately our Hotel was about 10ins walk to the River Rhone, we walked along the bank viewing the bar/nightclub "barges" and crossed the river. What a beautiful sight looking down the river in either direction and upwards to Fourviere. As you walk...More

Loads of shops, cafes and a nice vibe you don't feel like you're on a peninsula just a different part of town but seeing the rivers from the tip of the confluence is amazing.

If you like walking about in cities to discover the spirit and its people, the Presqu'Ile is the place to see (as well as Saint Jean on the other side of the Saone). You will see everything from cathedrals, museums, restaurants, bars, shopping places.

This part of lyon is located between the river Saone and Rhone, and is thus like Vieux Lyon quite narrow and long. This part of town houses the more monumental buildings, like the museum of fine arts and the town hall. It has 2 large...More

This is the prettiest of Lyon's neighborhoods - especially when the buildings are lit up at night. Places, fountains, wonderful architecture, and cafes abound. Lots of shopping and theaters here as well. This is a real functioing neighborhood filled with locals.

We stayed in a hotel in the centre of Prequ'ile and this was a good move. Perrache station is close by and useful for travelling to other nearby places. There is a very good food market on the East bank of the Saone River.

This was the area we stayed in and it was just the perfect location. Everything within walking distance. It is situated between the two rivers - the Rhône and the Saône. It is well located for the shops, restaurants, and the lovely daily outdoor market...More
