We love to walk around the park, seeing the two rose gardens, anything new at the zoo, have lunch, etc. The people of Lyon are lucky to have such a wonderful place.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 4, 2023
- Kwnstantina DAthens, Greece47 contributionsRelaxed morning in the park!Beautiful park with huge spaces!! Big trees, flowers all over and some coffee spots in several areas!! We went on weekday so the train and funpark wasn’t open but it is incredible just for a walk or a ride with bike! Many people where having a picnic which is an excellent idea as there are thick shadows in every corner!! The zoo is free as well as the botanical garden!! Great experience and ideal for children!!Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten September 7, 2023
- Rae HMelbourne, Australia115 contributionsWonderful open spacesMagnificent garden spaces with something for everyone. Tree lined avenues, a lake, paddle boats, fishing, playgrounds, mini train rides, vast lawn areas, conservatory and more. Seems to be well used by locals and tourists alike, I could spend all day walking and people watching. And did I mention the entrance gates!!Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 20, 2023

Many large fields for sports, a rose garden and even a small "zoo" with animals (antelope?) behind an empty moat. Great for a walk, including on the way to the Croix-Rousse neighborhood.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 1, 2023

Such a beautiful garden and has many lovely plants, flowers and bright colorful. Especially, in the sunny day with blue sky.

Great respite on a hot day. Found a shaded bench in a pretty alcove. Not a huge park but well-featured and perfect to combine with a museum visit

If you visit the city, I do not think this park is worth stopping by. The park is large but there are not anything unusual.

From where I was staying with my family, the parc de la tête d’or was about a 10 minute walk away. The day we went was super hot so we found a nice cafe my the lake inside the parc where the breeze was cool and refreshing. There is a literal zoo inside the parc, with all kinds of animals from Africa, even giraffes!

Parc is nice in general. Very close to city center. Easy to reach. Have a route around a cute lake. One can hire a bicycle and tour aroud it. Very nice. Conservatory is beatiful. Zoo is very weak. There is nothing to see.
The main problem is there is no WC service in that large parc. There were only two points where there are two cabins which were very dirty. There are very limited cafes and restaurants in the park, where there are no WC’s neither.

An amazing huge Parc. It has a zoo as well’ however it was closed when walked through the Parc. Lovely large lake and amazing rose garden. Perfect place for a peaceful walk.
