A Rose Window is just one element of a powerful frontage. Light hued stone work is interspersed with ornate flourishes.

A high altar, reached after traversing a fine nave bordered with stone columns and arches, is inspiring. So much holy imagery is there for the faithful.

A great organ is in place over the rear doorway. It dates from the 1840s and is highly regarded, leading to its classification as an historical monument.

Looking heavenwards we saw the gorgeous ceiling, crisscrossed with darker stone in a lovely pattern.

France is full of outstanding grandiose and highly decorated Cathedrals. Saying that I was pretty disappointed when I saw the Annecy one.
It's set in a small side street with an under average facade, more looking like an ordinary Church than a Cathedral. The interiors are nice due to beautiful stained glass and a rose window.

This is a beautiful cathedral with stained glass windows and a beautiful altar. There is a beautiful rose stained glass window in the back over the organ and a number of beautiful statues. It is worth a visit.

This had a similar layout to Church St Maurice, but is much more ornate. It has three large stained glass windows at the far end. There are no side chapels, but there are statues and pictures on both sides. There was not much tourist information.

There is nothing special to be highlighted about this cathedral. It's nice to have a look because is in the village centre or if you are faithful and that's it.

From the outside this small chapel was not much to look at from the outside. I don't know why this is called the cat drake of Annecy as the door was locked in the middle of the afternoon and we were not able to visit the inside.

There are plenty of interesting buildings and mediaeval streets to explore in Annecy and this cathedral is perhaps not one of the less interesting ones. For a start, the interior is quite dark. Of course, if you are tired from a long walk around town - and not prepared to pay for a beer or inhale the smoke of the cafes - a cool, quiet cathedral makes a great place to sit down for a rest.

We visited this cathedral before the basilica of notre dame, so we were amazed and intrigued at the beautiful stained glass windows, carvings on the pews as well as the great pipe organ. My partner really enjoyed examining the carvings on the choir stalls, stairs and pews. He preferred Saint Pierre Cathedral, however, I think I like the basilica of notre dame more.

This is a nice place to visit while walking in the old town of Annecy. Nice architecture (not very unique, but the whole place is amazing :)
