The park entrance is just past the Sofitel/Novotel entrance. There's a good number of bench seats as well as a large grass area that has a shaded area. Depending on the heat ( it was mid thirties when we were there), there was plenty space...More

Palais du Pharo is a beautiful park located about a 15 minute walk from old port. It has pretty views overlooking the old port and MuCEM. Free place to visit and have a picnic lunch and just relax with the locals. You can not go...More

The palace is situated right at the end of a cliff. You have a wonderful view of the city and of the harbor. The lawn in front of the palace is nice and green and you can have a seat while you take in everything...More

Located next to the wonderful Sofitel hotel, this is where you get a great panoramic view over the city. There's a bus stop nearby. If you are pressed for time, this is a real "must see" (and free).

Set in fantastic gardens with 360 degree views this is a magical place. A moment of piece and quiet in a manic city. Easy walk up from the old port and well worth the effort. Seemed safe and secure and a lovely place to rest,...More

The views from here are amazing, you get panoramic view of Marseille old and new port. It's a great place for kids to play and run around, perfect for picnics and it's definitely the best spot to watch sunset.

I walked to the Park and I spent about 1 hour enjoying the stunning views of Marseille Port, the Fort opposite, and the busy transit of all shapes sailing and motor boats. I didn't have time left to visit the actual palace...next time I will!

The park that surrounds the Palais du Pharo is called Emilie Duclaux (per the sun as you enter). There is a gate with guards - but pedestrians can enter through the door gates on each side. There were many families with children there when we...More

We walked around here on our self guided walking tour of Marseille. It is worth going this far and sitting a while to enjoy the views back down the Vieux Port. There is lots of green space around the building. A lovely spot. The Palais...More
