Located in the old Chateau Grimaldi, the Picasso Museum is a museum in a museum. The Chateau has been restored to showcase Picasso's artwork primarily from the period that he lived and painted in Antibes. Once you have viewed the works inside, there are statues and exceptional views of the terrace.

We have an apartment in Juan Les Pins. We frequently come with friends to Antibes and always take them to Picasso Museum. A month ago, we again came to Antibes and took our friends to Museum. I was also with my 10 year old doughter. When we arrived around noon, we were told that museum closes at 1 p.m. At 12.40 they started to warn that they are closing. We hurried to finish the visit and finally at 12.50 we stoped on the terrace just next to the exit to take some photo. I tried to take a photo of my doughter when the men from security came and start pushing us out. Although we had 10 minutes left, although we were on the outside terrace and needed couple of seconds to take take a photo and finally although it was litteraly few steps from the exit, they were very rude and pushed us out. Very unprofessional behaviour! I come from small tourist country, I work in tourism for more then 30 years, and this was outrageous! Museum itself is small, but nice. Now I really do not have wish to suggest and take anyone to visit museum again. Really dissapointed!

I have been to many Picasso's museums. This one is located in a great place. It is well guided. Works are from early stage so not really my cup of tea. Not crowded.

Many original works, nearly all from 1946, which Picasso painted inside this waterfront palace, as a guest artist of the city. Just great. Parking is a bear though: You will probably end up parking at the large city lot at the marina, east of this museum.

Stunning views and art in an incredible village. Tour the museum then the town and visit the absinthe bar and market. Quite possibly my favorite place on earth.

We visited this museum with our children aged 9 and 12 and the entire family loved it. I liked the size of the museum which was small enough that we didn't feel overwhelmed and could casually see everything and a manageable amount of time. The sculpture and pottery were especially interesting.

During my visit part of the museum was closed to install a new exhibition... so they lowered the entry fee! Why can't other museums do this? If any of the museum's management are reading this- Thank You!
Anyhow, most of the collection seems to be sketches, drawing, and lighter works produced during Picasso's two month residence here. It's fleshed out with some larger works donated later, plus a decent selection of Picasso's ceramics. Also scattered throughout are works by other artists in the same vein as Picasso, especially on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Walking around was quite confusing due to renovations and covid rules, and I found myself by the exit without having seen everything. Luckily the staff heeded my pleas and let me re enter.
Now the collection is not bad, but if you are not a big fan of Picasso you may find it a bit tame. For me though, it made for a nice day trip from nearby Nice.

On your site is written you close at 18, is not written last entrance is at 17.30!
This information is written just at your entrance very small and discret!
When a family is coming from another country with kids and is at your entrance at 17.35( please check if you have video ) and your bodyguard behaviour for a family is a pure no for me is a bad bad behaviour and your informations from the site is not fair written. Anyhow not respect!!

The museum is definitely worth the trip as it gathers beautiful artwork from Hartung, Bergman, César, etc. and of course Picasso. Beyond that, the place itself is beautiful and offers amazing seafront views.

I would have said that they've adapted perfectly to Covid-19 standards had I not seen several employees not wearing masks in the shop, while trying out scarves up for sale, while laughing and shouting at them.

Please be more considerate and responsible.

Enjoyed the ambiance and the relaxed atmosphere, taking time to study some of Pcasso's greatest works, some lesser known pieces too... I was unaware that he was also into ceramics.
My daighters, my wife and I now own some limited edition prints which we will treasure as they bring back memories of a wonderful trip to Antibes.
