After tasting wines and indulging in great food one needs a hike, even a short one. The remains of the summer papal palace are easy to spot and worth a short walk up the hill for amazing views and beautiful shots of the town and...More

We visited Chateauneuf during our recent trip to France. After parking the car, we walked up the narrow streets to the castle and were awarded with great views of the valley below.

Nothing much left. A little more than one wall of ruins. But the view of the Rhone River valley is nice. If you're in the area, go for a look. But not worth a trip on its own.

There's not much left of the castle. A shell of a wall more or less. The town itself is on a hill and the chateau practically makes the crown. Nice views from out here. Also the vineyards and the landscape can be viewed from the...More

Visible for miles around, the ruins of this castle are the dominant feature of this attractive and famous village. It is an easy climb from the centre of the village and, although there's not much to see of the castle itself, the views of the...More

Great monument to see views of chateauneuf and the rhone, it's a few steps up from the village, but can also be accessed by road.
