The city, as with most towns and surrounding villages are famous for their variety of fountains and crystalline waters. This one is exceptional as it is fed by warm waters and hence its abundant growth.

These fountains are fun to see when walking through Aix en Provence. I wouldn't make a special trip, but if you spend any time in the city you will see them. It's a neat way to bring a little nature into the old town.

One of several fountains located along Cour Mirabeau. It's been sitting there so long running warm water that it's grown Morse to the extent that no one remembers what the original statue underneath was. It's a good place for a quick stop to sit and...More

After seeing myriad fountains in Aix, I would put this moss-covered one near the bottom of my worth-seeing list. Historically, it is important, going up in 1667 as the first of four on Cours Mirabeau, a popular walking street. And it is fed by a...More

and on a very very hot day it was lovely to swish our hands through it. And then a woman came along with her dog and let it swim in it. Urgh.

There are many fountains in Aix-en-Provence. I didn't find this one particularly interesting. The street is nice though.
