The heart of Aix defines quintessential old European charm. Lots of boutiques selling local crafts and international brands. Plenty of architectural detail. A nice mix of restaurant options. There is also a nice cathedral and a couple of museums in the area. The city itself...More

Winding streets, music and dancing on the streets were just a few things the old town had to offer. Beautiful buildings and small fountains set out on small squares contributed to the harmony of the old town as well as giving an Ancient Rome touch....More

Wandering in the narrow lanes, feeling a bit of breeze, stopping in one of the squares for a simple lunch or a coffee, old Aix is always charming and welcoming.

The Viell Aix is a small, family friendly musuem aimed at children aged between 6 - 14. The only downside is no loos.

It was my 3rd short visit in Aix-en-Provence, but the town tells stories that make me come back every time we are in the area. It is true that this early summer there are major construction sites that prevent someone just getting acquainted with this...More

The old town is a net of narrow streets and alleyways - as it should be. Fun to explore and get lost at. There are a food market, flower market and an antique/flea market at different places in the old town. Check online to find...More

We spent 5 nights in Aix en Provence to explore the area. Most of the time we were outside of Aix but we did spend an hour or so walking in the Old Town. As Old Towns go, this one is pretty average. Not too...More

We were visiting Aix just for the day (4 Adults) and having taken the petit train to get an overview followed this area up for a more detailed view after lunch. A pleasant enough walk, buildings of real character, a variety of shops but just...More

Expected a lot. Disappointed a lot. Most of the city is a big working place. Hardly find a parking spot. Difficult to drive. Noisy. I guess I was there on the wrong moment. Not a Nice souvenir

Best to just wander. Admire the magnificent doorways and carvings in the side of buildings. There are quaint narrow streets, elegant street lamps, hidden gems at every turn ... take the time to walk around, get lost and absorb the ambiance.

While Cezanne's studio is a huge attraction in Aix, our us the best part of Aix is the shopping. On any given day (except Tuesdays) there's always local street vendors with amazing products. Saturdays are the best days for... More
