Delightful small bookstore with two floors of books in English and a beverage counter that makes it enjoyable to cozy up with a good book in a comfy lounge chair.

A terrific little English-language bookshop in the quaint Mazarin District with a decent inventory of modern fiction. I bought a couple of novels, including one that became 'the book' of our entire visit to France, that I carried to the beach and on trains and finally on the plane home. There's a cafe at the back but I didn't go there.
If I return to Aix I'll go back for more books

An oasis in the heat, air conditioned charm- surrounded by books, invited to sit , read and refresh. A joy. Essential to stock up on English language reading while you travel. Even a section of novels set in Aix!
The staff were more cold than cool.

Lovely staff, very knowledgable and helpful, a terrific selection of books in multiple languages, with a particularly well-stocked English section for all ages. And the cafe offers delightful cakes, pastries and beverages. Highly recommended.

Interesting little store along Rue Joseph Cabrassol, one of the side streets off the main Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence. Besides French titles of course, there is also a good selection of books in several other languages. You can also order food and drinks whilst thumbing through a book. All in all, a very cozy endroit to hang out after all the sightseeing

When I saw this place I couldn’t stop myself from getting inside. I had a cappuccino with a cookie and the atmosphere was really beautiful.
It’s a place to buy coffee or books or both.
„it’s not a Library“
They have books in many languages and the service is excellent. They speak English too ☺️

We were in Aix for three days and had coffee/tea and cake in here each day. The service was friendly and excellent; the prices were very reasonable; it was open 9-7, Mon-Sat. We also bought books. I can't recommend this shop too highly.

If you wish to take your time and get away "far from the madding crowd", this is the right place. In a cosy and friendly atmosphere, the selection of teas and cakes will remind you of Great Britain. The choice of books is very large on top of everything. Not to be missed: part of it should be financed to fight against depression! The first floor is my favorite xx.

There is only one lady who knows how to give good customer service. The others are rude and very unhelpful. My last two visits were very unpleasant. I won’t be going back nor recommending them to my students!! In fact my adult students had the same problem with them.

What a delightful discovery i happened upon, in downtown Aix-en-Provence : a small café within a delightful bookstore ! This bookshop is located across from the splendid mansion, Hôtel de Caumont, on Rue Joseph Cabassol. Enter its wooden interior and delight in tomes in both French and English. There are both fiction ( Call Me By Your Name - in English, nonetheless), and non-fiction ( Markets of Provence ; Sights and Scenes of Provence, to name a few) titles. The warmly rich wooden interior calls to mind scenes from a Harry Potter- type movie. There are sections dedicated to university students, as well as other languages etc. In the center of the bookshop, there is a walk-up counter- café , with several types of teas and coffees on order, as well as enticing fresh fruit, cookies and cake slices. Place your order and sit down with a good book ( or a good friend ), and relax. There are several types of seating choices, both on the main floor, the staircase landing, or the upper floor. Choose your spot - your café order will be brought to you momentarily ! What a fabulous way to spend a lazy afternoon !
