We knew nothing of this Museum, but received a free ticket when we went to the main Granet Museum. We thought it was the better of the two. A lovely building with great lighting and galleries. The art work was limited but VERY INTERESTING! There...More

My favourite museum in Aix. Do go for the audio guide as you gain so much more information about the collector and his relationship with the artists.

Total surprise after a disappointing visit to the Granet. The collection is eclectic but really special. Van Gogh Picasso and many other highlights. The collector's story and how it all came to be is really special.

This incredible art museum didn't come up on my radar until we came across the special Picasso exhibit. When they informed us that the rest of the museum was around the corner, the momentum and art got even better.

Small chapel converted for a good collection of modern art. Included in ticket for the Musee Grandet. Opened late both days we tried to get in, at 1pm instead of 10am.

You should visit the extension of Musée Granet devoted to the fabulous Foundation Jean Planque. Many famous painters are represented among them Picasso, Dubuffet, Cezanne, Degas etc... Sure you will appreciate this earlier Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs, with the beautiful renovation inside architecture !

This is an off-shoot of the Musee Granet round the corner. It has a great collection of works by well-known (Picasso, Cezanne) and less well known painters and sculptors. Well worth a visit. There is also a lift to get you to the two upper...More

The Twentieth Century branch of Musee Granet contains some surprises - a fascinating Van Gogh, a Gauguin portrait, a Sonia Delaunay portrait, some super Debuffets. The setting is a converted church and it is airy and light and a superb place in which to see...More
