For its completeness. Living on Guernsey i am spoiled for choice for German bunkers. However, none of these have all the artefacts in place, such as the one at La Rochelle. Well worth a visit.

This was not far from our apartment and was well signposted. Entrance fee was reasonable, and there were a lot of intriguing artefacts relating to French, German, American and British troops. The display boards are largely in French but a booklet was available at reception...More

Very interesting and authentic, the entrance fee was reasonable as well. A lot of the information wasn’t translated to English however, only a smaller part which was a shame

Very well kepts and documented bunker which was used by the Germans while building the UBoats nearby. The inside has been very well preserved, together with its own bar. Many interesting videos in French /English explaining the whole history of this huge bunker.

Was not easy to find but worth it. Perhaps could do with better signage inside too. Took lots of photos.

This German bunker was housed under a hotel in La Rochelle, so it looks like an entrance to a building on a regular street. Once inside it is amazing to see how they used this facility. Most of Europe has interesting WW2 museums etc. and...More

In the heart of La Rochelle, this bunker recreates perfectly the living conditions of the admiralty hiding quarters during the WW2 bombings. Short visit with many military and civilian war artefacts and an interesting display explaining the destruction of the German submarine construction bases around...More
