We visited all 3 Towers in La Rochelle on a day when they happened to be open until 11pm. The Lantern tower was very interesting with well preserved graffiti from prosoners of past times. Our teenage daughter being a keen photographer was kept interested and...More

This attraction is worth visiting, if just for the view alone when you reach the top via the round stone staircase. Great historical interest and lots of graffiti left from the 1600’s onwards. Really interesting place. Very friendly staff

Several large rooms of etchings in the stone walls left by prisoners. Nice to stroll around enjoying the etchings, strong structural wood and stone features, the lovely glass windows and the view from the top.

Worth a visit but, I would say, not worth the €6 ticket price. Take a stroll to the Tour de la Lanterne, especially at dusk, to appreciate the stunning tower in all its resplendence.

Beautiful location besides de river. Nice view from the tower over the city, the river and the landscape in general. Very big parking lot in front of the tower, so easy to access.

All three towers are a must see for the history. Not as interesting as a visit to Alcatraz, but then, it's La Rochelle not S.F.

The lantern is a nice building to stop at but 6€ for the entrance is more at the expensive side for a moderate view over the town.

Really enjoyed the visit to the Lantern Tower. The weather was mixed but we did manage to get out onto both of the terraces when the rain stopped. It was interesting to see the graffiti carved by prisoners into the stone and the large rooms...More

A quick visit here was well worth it. Walking around a corner to it, and it is a huge bright building and looked great with the sunshine blazing on it. It doesn't take long to look at or in but worth the effort.

The most stunning of the three towers. Lots of history with English translation cards available in each room. Plenty of stairs to get the heart pumping.
