We saw the Distillery from the little tourist train, and decided to visit 'on spec'. Needin a new hip, I was on crutches so got in free! My wife had to pay, but not much, it was an inexpensive entry fee. The visit took about an hour, was in French (but with just a basic level you would understand) and expecting the visit to entail walking, I was surprised to be shown into the room in the photo. It is a working distillery, and this is basically it! However, we were offered samples of loads of things to taste, and the process was explained well. The young lady doing the explanations was great fun. This visit was not free though, we ended up buying some great drinks, and gained the understanding that while the region is known for wine, there are more quality drinks that do not get the credit they deserve. Very interesting place to visit with a tour of the distillery showing the process of making Triple Sec. Tasting at the end of tour. Certainly recommended is the Cherry Creme.

We enjoyed this tour very much. I can't speak French but my partner can. I was given a print out in English so that I could understand what was being said. We were very impressed with the enthusiastic guide who seemed to enjoy her job. The information was interesting and engaging and the distillery was lovely. The tasting at the end of the tour was varied and interesting. I don't like triple sec particularly but it was interesting to find out how it was made and there were plenty of other things to try and buy- we went for rose liqueur made with petals from the loire valley.…

We were so impressed by the original, and very small, distillery equipment, room, space, size and staff of Combier! A visit here for my manufacturing minded husband was like dropping into the rabbit hole. It’s simply astonishing what they accomplish with such a small operation. The tasting after the tour was pretty good, too. I especially enjoyed the syrups as I’m not much of a drinker, but our little tour group was able to sample some fresh spirits and had a lively discussion. Very local, very old, very special!…

Last tour on Monday and I'm the sole tour participant. How exclusive to have a private tour of this nearly 200-year old distillery! I got to hear the great story on how the original Combier started his triple sec production. I was shown the orange peels from Haiti that a lady prepared by hand for the liquor. The tour concluded with a tasting of some of Combier's stock. Indeed, a very interesting tour.…
