You can't miss this amazing astronomical clock as you walk through Rouen. It dates back to the 14th century. It only has one hand--to display the hour. It also displays the days of the week and the phases of the moon.

Visit this clock to get to know about it’s history! Also climb the 100 stairs to seethe most stunning view around Rouen

A great little museum, the story of the clock and Rouen really comes alive. It's a steep climb to the top, up a narrow spiral staircase. The view over the city though is well worth the climb. Look for the ancient graffiti in the room...More

It’s a really treasure of Normandy capital. It’s fantastic to walk down the main street with the Gros-Horloge in the landscape. Very well preserved. Congrats.

Well worth a visit but be warned it's tight spiral staircase and 8 floors to the top - but a great audio guide all the way. Did not meet anyone on the stairs coming the other way - thankfully as it would have been 'interesting'!

We wanted to see it at night, but we were bothered, as other walkers by some drunk guys with their dogs. They even could not keep their dog, what made it quite frightening. They were there the 3 nights we said in Rouen, so too...More

A wonderful astronomic clock near the cathedral. An architectural delight. We didn’t go inside but even if you don’t, it’s a must see. Worth taking photos.

If you are looking for small town Christmas Markets then this is the town for you. I hope to go back in the summer but the Gros- Horloge is just a beautiful landmark in this extrodinary town.

30 mins spent climbing up and around the clock tower is a worthwhile for an insight into the inner workings of the clock that has stood the test of time. The view it offers is not half bad either.

Self guided tour with audio guide was exactly the right way to do this spot. Very interesting history - and a good audio guide. All the clock inner workings are visible, clock keepers quarters, etc. Fun.

It's an easy walk - it's fairly level. I have one knee replaced and the other needs to be done. I always use a cane when touring (otherwise at home I don't) to give you some idea of how mobile I am.
