As churches/chapels go this was fairly interesting with the history of St Therese de Lisiuex. I wouldn't have walked up for this alone, though clearly it is a pace of pilgrimage for some

There is a tourist train that takes you to the top, to visit the church, see the view and hear the bells ring. Wish we'd known as it was a hot walk up there. Strictly speaking I don't think the structure outside the church is...More

It is said that worshipping here saved Honfleur from destruction in WW11. It is not grand but worth the visit even if it is just for the view. Remember no talking in the church.

We walked up a very steep hill (100 meters) on the west side of Honfleur’s harbor to reach this chapel. It was built in 1600 to 1615 by the townspeople and mariners of Honfleur, replacing a former chapel destroyed during a landslide. The chapel sits...More

We visited the Notre Dame de Grace Church as part of our trip on Le Petit Train de Honfleur. The Church is old, high above the town and with the bells on a large framework outside the Church. It was well worth a visit.

How anyone can just say this is “just a church on a hill” beats me. It is the church where prayers were said for the people setting out from France for Canada 500 years ago. They were risking their lives to settle an unknown land....More

I'm at a loss to know why anyone would take the time to visit? If you take Le Petite Train (for the ride, not the destination) I understand, otherwise not so much. The bells a a bit cool; be there when they ring.

We walked to this church down a quiet country road after climbing up to see the view of the Pont de Normandie. We were expecting to find ourselves almost alone in a quiet spot. We were surprised to find that people were visiting the church...More

You can reach this church by trolley or you can climb the steep trail. I climbed and was well rewarded by great views and this church. I was also fortunate enough to be here when the bells rang. There is a terrific stand of large...More

Really nice little chapel high above Honfleur. It's a steep walk from the village but you can drive and there is ample free parking under shady trees. The views out over Honfleur are stunning. The chapel bells are in a big wooden frame outside and...More
