A must-see
Jul 2020
This is definitely a must-see in the area. It's such a wonderful place to visit whether you enjoy Monet's paintings or not, both the gardens and the house are wonderful. If you are a lover of Monet's art, you have to make the time for it. It's only an hour away from Paris by train and it takes about an hour to visit everything. We loved it and can only recommend. We visited in July and there were plenty of flowers and some water lilies were blooming.

The home of Monet
Oct 2019
Excellent experience. Walking tour of the Lily pond he painted so often.
His home and gardens he had planted so he could paint them! Interesting!
His home interior was amazing to see! I went in October perfect weather but the water lilies were not open yet.
Population of the town Giverny is only 500. very much the French countryside. Leaving from Paris it is about an hour drive.

Magical 😁

The gardens and home of Claud Monet are so very beautiful. The home is interesting and full of his art collections. The gardens are magical to walk through and to witness the inspiration for his work.

A must see!

Flowers, flowers and more flowers.
Oct 2019
We visited these gardens in Ocober, and I was was not sure if we were going to be able experience the beauty of the gardens that I had read about. Despite the time of year, there were many beautiful flowers. Monet designed the-gardent to be beautiful year round. There were only a few waterlilies in bloom, but the flowers surrounding the pond provided a perfect "frame" for my many photos. I would like to return each season to experience this artists living picture!

Superb gardens that inspired many of his best paintings
Oct 2019
Giverny is a quaint village located about an hours drive from Paris. The drive there through the gorgious Normandy countryside was almost as pleasant as the visit to his house. While there be sure to take the short walk to the other end of town to the church where his remains are intered. This 11th century church has recently been renovated and is a real jewel in its own right. You enter it thru the side door off the road. Monet's studio has been converted to a very nice gift shop. I was shocked at how beautiful the garden was this late in the year (end of October). Filled with birds and blooming flowers. There's a tunnel that takes you to the other side of the road where his pond is. This was even more spectacular than the garden. Its easy to understand where he received the inspiration for his best work here. The house itself has been faithfully restored to appear as it did when Monet lived there. There's also a small impressionist museum in Giverny which only has a single Monet painting and primarily showcases another painter who's work I didn't care for (recommend skipping it). Overall - definitely worth making a day trip from Paris.

Day trip from Paris
Jul 2019
I signed up for a small group day trip (5 people) from Paris and glad I did.

Because we got an early start, we arrived at Monet's house and gardens before the large bus tours did.

It's difficult not to take a million pictures of the flowers, but why not?

The one tip I'd offer is to go to the pond garden first and then the house. A small road separates the house from the garden, so you have to walk through a tunnel under the road to get to the garden. So look for the sign for the tunnel and head over before it gets really crowded.

A wonderful day trip from Paris if you have the time.

Wonderful garden and Picturesque Lake

Nice to see the place that was home of a master. Could see he was surrounded by beauty and interesting that even his own home garden and lake was a beauty and place you see in paintings.

If you love Monet...
Oct 2019
If you love Monet it is an absolute must when you are in Northern France. We were staying in Paris and took a trip out to the gardens. My daughter has loved Monet since she was a little girl, so this was a priceless experience for her. Luckily in October it was still beautiful and flowers were in bloom. Hope to return again in the spring.
