Bertrand was THE BEST! He was exceptional in his communication with us and adapted the tour to both the time we had and our knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and learned much. Bertrand is proud of his region and very knowledgeable. A highlight of our trip!

Bertrand communicated easily via email and advised us on which towns to stay in. He picked us up in his vehicle and spent the entire day sharing the history of the area. He adapted the tour to meet the needs of our family group (ages 11-75) and gave us some choice along the way. His english is good and he's very personable. Highly recommend.

Bertrand was an exceptional guide. He is extremely personable and enjoys sharing his knowledge of the area. He knew so much history about the preparation for D-Day and details of the invasion and he taught even the history lovers in our group. I emailed with Bertrand before we left the US and he suggested that we watch the movie The Longest Day which told about D-Day. The movie gave us an excellent background and prepared us for some of the sights we would see. Bertrand was very quick to respond to my questions and helped us with information about which train to take from Paris. He met us at the train station and took us to a boulangerie where we picked up lunch to eat in his car as he drove us to see our first sight. Bertrand had photos and other visual aids to help us imagine what a horrific experience it was for the Allied troops landing at the beaches of Normandy. I think the highlight of the trip was visiting the American Cemetery and seeing the flag lowering. It was an emotional experience for all of us. Make sure you wear a raincoat or take an umbrella. Layers of clothes will help keep you from getting too hot or too cold. The area gets a lot of rain and there can be mud, so wear shoes that can survive mud and that will be comfortable as you walk up and down some hills. Seeing Normandy is an experience we will never forget. Seeing it with Bertrand was exceptional and made the whole thing even more special.

Bertrand is incredible. He will take you wherever you want to go. I had a specific agenda, to visit the site where my Dad's glider crashed and to visit the graves of those who perished.Bertrand is a historian who is a hands on tour guide researching and visiting sites, showing photos, helping to bring to life what went on.Every moment of the day was amazing. He even helped us have the inaccurate date changed on the iconic photo of the glider crash (where he previously recognized it in the museum) changed from DDay to DDay1, June 7. This accurately portrayed the day and honored those who were on that glider. We highly recommend Bertrand for anyone who wants to experience an amazing tour. Being this was a personal trip about my Dad it was extremely important to us that it be done well. Bertrand is extremely qualified and a very nice person to spend the day with.

One of the highlights of our 3 week trip in France. We knew that the Normandy Beaches were expansive and difficult to see everything on our own. We knew we didn’t want a big large group tour so looked into a private tour and were lucky enough to find Bertrand. Such a great day we spent with him. Very comfortable vehicle, extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He took us to the major highlights and explained more of the history and events than we could possibly do on our own in such a fashion that kept the 4 of us intrigued. He would tailor the tour to however we wanted but we opted to stick with the major stops. He answered all our questions and put his own take on the politics of the war, which really gave us another perspective. Could not have fashioned the day any better. We were all exhausted by the end of the day but brought up the visit several times and went back the next day to wrap it all up at some of the museums. Motivated to watch “Saving Private Ryan” on the flight home, “The Longest Day” the weekend we arrived home, and are now replaying “Band of Brothers”. Bertrand is a major movie buff so you will be hard to stump him 😀 Thanks again Bertrand for a great, memorable day!
