We were amazed this was not higher up on the top things to do in Lille. We thought it was so peaceful and lived the stained glass windows. It was not busy either. Definitely worth a visit.

Only takes about 20mins to walk around. There are a few little chapels within, each with their own style. Plenty of stained glass windows, plenty of chairs. Light a candle for 1euro Worth a visit! Free to enter

The construction of this (neo) Gothic church started at the end of the 14th century and was not completed until 1877 almost 500 years later. Walk around the building before entering it, as the exterior of the chapels at the rear of the church are...More

For those concerned by the beggars, remember that this is a Christian church, not a tourist attraction. It ministers to the poor and needy. Look out for the foodbank collecting box for supporting refugees. I write this as an atheist. The building is stunning. The...More

Although large , this church has not any special features and is beginning to look a little tatty. I therefore wouldn't recommend a visit unless you have a real passion for churches

I loved visiting Saint Maurice, even more than I did the Notre Dame de la Treille. The first time I went in, I started tearing non-stop with no rhyme or reason. It's a beautiful old church with lovely pieces of art. Saint Maurice's stained glass...More

Gothic style church with a relatively simple interior. Beautiful art works around the church and the side chapels are a treat to my eyes. However, the main altar is just hideous, which ruins the beauty of this place. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful quick pit stop...More

A lovely gothic cathedral with stunning Windows. Visit slightly marred by other disrespectful tourists slurping drinks and scoffing food whilst walking around.
