The Cathedral is a creation of the late 19th Century but must be on the site of a previous church' cathedral. It is gothic in style with soaring arches and a feeling of space. One feature was the west end of the building which is...More

Must see the south facing window when the light shines through it is amazing it makes the rest of the Cathedrale rather dark.

From the outside not so nice, grey in contrast with the mostly 3 colored old houses in the city. Impressive however is the new entrance. 110 marble plates allow sunlight to pass trough although they are 2.8cm thick. Nice effect, at night, light from inside...More

Relatively speaking, it's not a very old church. The stained window is lovely. Toward the back there are several stunning chapels, including one to Joan of Arc. The docents (if that's the right word) are very knowledgeable and helpful if you want a little more...More

The outside of this church looks interesting and when you go inside and look back at the inside of the frontage, you realise how special it is - semi translucent marble gives an amazing effect on the modern front, meanwhile the inside is an expansive...More

Small for a cathedral and relatively modern. Enjoyed the small saints chapels and stained glass. Underwhelming from outside but fairly impressive inside. Colder inside than out too, on the day we visited! Walk around the back to see the incredibly tall and thin houses and...More

We have not seen anything like this before. The traditional stained glass windows were beautiful but the 'new' marble edifice was amazing - even with low later afternoon winter sun shining through the this panels. Excellent visit, we will come again and bring friends -...More

It is the saddest church I have ever come across. It does not look like a cathedral. There are many beautiful churches in Lille, could one of them actually become "the" cathedral? The marble panel looks atrocious from outside and so odd from inside. Like...More

One of the few places in Lille open on a Monday morning; very interesting history in terms of how it was built over the last 100+ years. Worth a visit.

Very unusual, modern cathedral. We are used to tour cathedrals and churches but this one was nothing what we expected. It was a very pleasant surprise.
