I saw the Place du Theatre before the Grand Place and it is just impressive but on a smaller square. A bustling place with beautiful buildings, great for people watching.

The Theatre and tower dominate the scene and add the stoic presence of times gone by. Looking at the architecture, admiring the skill and craftsmanship that it took to build these structures, and the calm of the night made for such a peaceful time at...More

This is a nice place to just sit and gather and plan the next thing. Plenty of passing people to enjoy watching and no traffic going past the steps. On a sunny day I would recommend a rest here!

This is a great area with some lovely buildings and a few cafes and restaurants . It is therefore a point that all visitors are likely to find themselves in more than once

there were beggars and drunks sitting on the steps playing loud music and shouting and just disturbing the whole area and this was at 10am the police should try to clean this problem up as its not good for the towns reputation

I think this smaller square is better than the its bigger brother around the corner. It seems more intimate with its cafes and bars all with the backdrop of some magnificent architecture. This then leads off into the old town.

Place du Theatre is a very beautiful and large place in the center off Lille. You find many shops, restaurants and bars on that place.

Some beautiful buildings and a very nice starting point for either the shopping area or the old town.
