I've walked along this short and little used canal that runs from the Embrouchure basin where it meets the Canals du Midi & Garonne then runs back to the Garonne river many times. Little doubt it will look prettier in spring or summer when all...More

Close to the city center, this is a place worth to include in your walk. Nothing spectarcular, but definitely very pleasant.

So, here's the deal - Toulouse is a filthy, smelly dump of a place and I seriously wish I hadn't bothered. The stretch of canal through the city is no exception - don't be fooled by this attractive looking photo, it is flanked on both...More

A couple of hours on the Garonne, it worths the price as you get a different view of the town. The captain explained what the different buildings used to be (old factories) and he was a fun guy too! A leaflet with explanations in different...More

Canal de Brienne is the lesser known cousin of Canal du Midi. It's picture perfect with bridges and trees, and nice for a walk in the heat.

With many stores and attractions in Toulouse being closed on Sundays, we thought it would be a perfect day for a walk along the banks of the Canal du Midi. The canal dates back to the 17th century and is listed as a UNESCO World...More

This goes from the river Garonne to a basin where it meets up with two other canals. We were lucky enough to take a boat trip which was meant to go upstream and back down but instead we went along the Canal de Brienne up...More

Walked a length of the canal side path, it was a bit dingy, ok you can get a good view of architecture rising up from the opposite bank, but theres nothing special about this experience, just handy to get from one place to another.
