This is a great climbing centre, rather than the beautiful hillside town. There are several adventurous high level routes over obstacles, that you follow whilst attached to a safety wire. There are zip wires (or death slides, depending on your perspective) both as part of...More

Stayed here in our Motorhome and was totally blown away with the architecture and stunning views from the Ramparts of this medieval town. There's a high speed modern fenicular to whisk you down through the rocks to the lower level of the Church and Chapel,...More

This is actually a high-ropes parcour course a between Rocamadour and Gramat.... It's located down in a valley in the trees, so you can escape a bit from the hear. Lots of options, very nice guides. There are a couple tracks for children and learners,...More

Breathtaking is the word I would use to describe our very first sighting of this incredible town, perched high on the rock face. The Chateau, the clock and the town dwellings were just a few of the things visible from the car park. We walked...More

Driving toward Rocamadour and seeing, for the first time, that massive chateau and church complex crowned by its ramparts and tower clock hanging, it seems on the cliff of a mountain is a breathtaking moment. But the wonders within this medieval structure only fulfill the...More

A very impressive place. A must visit attraction in the area. The city, church and chateau are amazing.

There are 3 levels in Rocamadour: In the upper is a castle, in the middle there are churches and the picture of the "Black Madona" and in the lower is the village Rocamadour. The whole is superb.

It's worth reiterating what some other people have said, that Rocamadour Aventures is a high-ropes adventure place about 5-10 mins outside the town, and is not the town of Rocamadour. That comes under 'cite religieuse'. The high ropes course is great. Most of it can't...More

Amazingly dramatic setting, especially seen from the opposite cliff top. A site of pilgrimage consisting mainly of religious buildings, with a small street at the bottom consisting of the usual gift shops and eateries. A lift hewn into the rock takes you up the first...More

Rocamadour is in the Lot Department bordering the eastern edge of Dordogne. The buildings of Rocamadour rise in stages up the side of a cliff on the right bank of the Alzou, a tributary of the Dordogne River. We drove here from Sarlat (an hour's...More
