which is worth a visit on a fine day. A village which was completely destroyed during the war, only some memorials remain.

The French did well by leaving this small community as it was after the war. You still see the craters where the bombs fell. Tie this in with a visit to adjacent museum.

This is one of nine villages in the Verdun area which were completely destroyed and never rebuilt. The path through is accessed via the coach park side of the main museum and you wander through shell pocked woodland where the original houses and businesses once...More

A quiet reverend place what plaques show the layout of the village before the bombardment. A place to sit and reflect

Excellent, informative and accessible. Information not only about how, why and where the battle was fought but also the personal and social angles - letters from and to soldiers; the surgeons in the field hospitals, etc. Information given in French, English and German.

Fleury looks idyllic at first but knowing that this small village was fought so hard for during the Battle of Verdun gives the place an ominous feel. The little white markers are all that's left of Fleury and are a strong symbol of how war...More

Hard to say there's something you like about this place but it's deeply moving for sure. The way they have set markers around what used to be a village now show where local places were...a school, the town hall, bakery , a butcher and so...More

Not much to see (anymore) in Fleury... which makes it so captivating. A whole town swept away in 1916. Today only street name signs and little tombs remind us of what Fleury must have been like. No wonder people walk around in silence here.
