This small castle was built in 1368 and made from red coloured bricks from the Rousillon area. It has acted as a defensive structure, a prison and now a museum and the main meeting point in Perpignan. If there is an event going on in...More

While we were not able to go inside the castle, it was certainly enjoyable to see from the outside. A great location if you love to take photos!

It doesn't look real, more like a film set! It dominates its surroundings, and you walk through the arch to get into the old town. Totally amazing pink colour. We didn't go into the museum - shut on Sundays and Mondays.

Nearly 150 steps to the top for the views but start there as it makes the rest of the visit easier. Interesting puppet exhibition and details about Perpignan history

There is quite a lot of climbing but the view of the City from the tower is unrivalled. The displays are also well done but you need good French

It only cost 2 Euro entrance fee! It is the historic gate to the town and a leaflet, available in English, gives you a brief history. The information panels in the rooms give a more in depth history of Perpignan but are in French. It...More

This place stands out as something worth visiting and is a pittance to get in. In truth there isn't a lot inside but there is a lot of history retold on wall plaques, and a set of stairs to climb up the tower - and...More

Had a guiding tour to the top ( 142 steps up. ) My husband understand France but I only a little bit. So I Would recommend English guide if you don't speak France. A lot of information. The view was worth the walking !

Great walk up the stairs, beautiful. Iews, interesting museum. But impossible for people with physical difficulties. Needs a lift.
