A must see when in Nîmes
Beautiful gardens, in the heart of the city, and a must visit for any tourists. The ground level boasts wonderful statues and an intricate and ornate stone layout with waterways below. Climb the various levels of the gardens to reach Tour Magne for panoramic views of the city.

    Gorgeous gardens and water ways
Gorgeous formal water gardens full of scented Linden trees, this is a wonderful place for a walk. It has the Temple of Diana on one side and grand stairways and lots of places to sit and take in the views. The gardens climb up the hill behind the fountains and pool into shady, tree lined paths that rise to the old city walls. A gorgeous place for a walk.

    Cool down on Hot days
Can be enjoyed at anytime of the day or early evening. I did it by itself, and also after the visit to Tour Magne. Spectacular stonework and waterways, a bit cooler than other parts of the city during midday heat in shade near the water, ideal for a picnic spot. At the bottom entrance there is a public convenience and just outside the gates there is a nice little coffee/snack shop.

The park is very spacious and peaceful. There are ancient Roman remains, and very close to it there is a very convenient parking lot under one of the streets.

This is a wonderful spot in a busy city. You can hike, bird watch, people watch and see some old ruins. It’s a wonderful spot to spend an afternoon.

Oasis of peace and cool in the mid day heat, convient to the city centre, immaculate and worth the climb to the tower, the use of water from an aquifer to produce the many pools is an engineering marvel. There are pictures of the underground caves i whish there is more information

We were unprepared for the scale of these roman gardens, they are quite beautiful and there are koi carp in every pool! Take a picnic and sit and watch them. Really well kept and preserved.

An easy walk from the arena, the Jardins de la Fontaine are easy to find. It is a beautiful park and a good place to enjoy beautiful roman architecture. Lovely fountains, tour magne at the top. Lots of places to sit and have a picnic lunch in such beautiful surroundings. It's open with not a lot of shade. On a beautiful fall day, it was the perfect place to be. it was not crowded, even at midday.

Lovely gardens that are free to enter and on the way to the Tour Magne, nice place to stop and rest before the walk up the hill.
