This is the main entry point into the old city and is a suitably grand and historic gateway. You can access the city walls from here or just set off to explore the fascinating streets of the old town.

This is a rather impressive and well-preserved medieval gate to the walled city of Aigues Mortes. For a small fee, it's possible to scale the ramparts and walk around the tower for a commanding view of the surrounding countryside.
