This by far was my favorite area of Versailles. It is far out, perhaps 10 minutes from the Petite Trianon. It literally looks like a story book. It is simply charming. You can see the farm, with animals, and the different areas of the village....More

A royal view of the purported life of the agricultural class of the time ? .It is an a typical village scene that is lovely to look at and wander round and but is perhaps more disney than reality

This was a real favorite part of our visit the the chateau. It was a quiet retreat for Marie Antoinette to go to with her children to get away from palace life. They still grow fruits and veggies there, very nice. Great place to sit...More

This was by far one of my favorite stops while visiting Versailles. The grounds were picturesque. The animals were cute. This was a great stop.

Small is relative. This is a lovely palace built for Marie Antoinette. Beautiful architecture and sculptures. So glad we got to see it.

Marie-Antoinette's Domaine... the queen got bored with court life and built out a tiny Hansel-and-Gretel-like village to pretend to be a simple peasant girl from those romantic novels ladies read... the village remained intact to this day with its idyllic scenes and a functioning animal...More

This is such a cute little area and a little distance from the Palace, therefore could be easy to miss if the effort isn't made to go there. It was really interesting to see how and where Marie-Antoinette chose to escape to when she wanted...More
