I found UC-61 randomly while looking for a cocktail bar near a restaurant we had reservations at that night. And I am so happy I did! What a fantastic spot to have discovered. Since we moved to Europe, I've found that the cocktails are hit or miss in many places. This is most assuredly not one of them - the menu is decidedly non-traditional, but both of the drinks my wife and I ordered were truly excellent. The staff was friendly and then vibe was pretty low-key (which is right up our alley). UC-61 is truly a gem!…

Really enjoyed stopping in here for a cocktail! The bar staff are extremely knowledgeable of their drinks and what works, helpful and friendly! Also pretty reasonable priced too considering what you get. Can’t wait to go back!

This was meant to be a night out with friends as a farewell from Paris. The menu on the door says: ring the doorbell. There is no doorbell! The website said it was open Saturday night. It was not. UC-61 is a great place to get an elaborated cocktail. Quentin was an amazing mixologist and very knowledgeable, the service was top notch. Very welcoming to foreigners and cosy atmosphere. I was in Paris for 4 nights and stopped by every night before getting to my hotel, open late on the weekends was a plus. Very cool spot, don't miss a chance to drop by and ask for your favourite drink!!!…

I was looking for a place to knock back a good cigar with a glass of Scotch on a rainy night in Paris. The kind of night movies are made of. I searched a bit on the web, and then this place caught my attention. The UC-61 is a German submarine which ran aground in 1917 on a beach of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The crew was captured and the remains of the sub were used to construct this unique space. From the street it looks forbidden. There are no windows, the door is locked, and when you ring the bell it may take them a couple minutes to answer. And when they do, they look at you as if you are out of place. But once inside, its warm and comfy. The small bar has a god selection and even some whiskey I hadn't heard of but quite tasty. Smoking is downstairs, the space is tight but ell ventilated and built for conversation. I spent a few hours, met some interesting people and was very glad I found this warm spot on a cold wet winter night.…
