Going to miss Wimbledon? Never fear: if you're in Paris in late May / early June, head to the French Open instead. Also known as the Roland Garros, this is one of the big four Grand Slam tennis tournaments (along with Wimbledon, and the US and Australian Opens), and the only one played on clay courts. This makes the game slower and more strategic than on grass, and gives the whole event a wonderfully relaxed vibe.

I am Nadal fans. So glad I came to witness him getting his 11th French Open championship title. We took metro from the Opera area and then walked about 10 to 15 mins to reach Roland Garros. The whole tournament was well organised with helpful...More

Give it a go for a truly charged atmosphere that is infectious! It doesn't compare to watching it on your television. Wear the sunscreen and since you are in Paris, bring the umbrellas too.

Because of rain, they had to cancel the quarter final after 1 hour. They postponed it to the next day but told all the people that they are not allowed to come back the next day to see the end of the game.... Everybody was...More

Watched week 1 games at the center court. Got to see some big stars and some very exciting match-ups in the side courts. Only complaint is that it took a long time to get into stadium through the security check. Food options were not very...More

Beautiful stadium, weather dreadful and place heaving. Courts were wonderful but queues for toilets and refreshments were not. Tennis brilliant but one off experience for me due to sheer numbers of people also there.

We scored some reserved seating tickets and had a ball watching players from around the world. The less expensive "general admission" tickets allow you to watch matches on the smaller courts (which would have been just as fun). We arrived at the start of the...More

There is a lot of excitement and security when entering the event and the security and entrance staff could be less militant and more customer friendly, however, the event is great. Clean, well set up and good courts. They could also do a better job...More
