17th Arrondissement is not the smartest part of Paris but it is quiet locality with very few tourists. As a frequent visitor to Paris, this is where I head for. The Boulevard Pereire is a calm linear garden good for sitting and reading or plenty...More

E stayed in this area early in 2017 and enjoyed the residential feel so chose to stay here on a return visit in October 2017. It has some great local restaurants and boulangeries. Some smart shops and restaurants too. Lots of families - a real...More

This is the second arrondissement in Paris that we've lived in for an extended period. It's a very interesting area with a duel almost triple personality. It is not touristy at all. The Villiers section, that part which is closest to the 8th and the...More

I visited the area to see a studio/apartment for my daughter who is studying in Paris. The neighbourhood is not the greatest and this explains the relatively cheaper rentals in this area. My decision was to look somewhere else. Overall not recommended

After five nights at the Westin Vendome we moved out to a private apartment in the 17th. The neighbourhood is charming and feels very safe. It is mainly residential and appears fairly 'well heeled'. Shops are very close by, only five minutes walk. Designer boutiques,...More

The Batignolles neighborhood is rapidly gentrifying. It's charming and full of markets and good restaurants. There is a new town being developed along the train tracks with big parks and big housing developments plus the new courts. Come see how it turns out.

After visiting this area in August 2016 we decided on a hotel here on a return visit. On a visit to an exhibition about the painter Frederic Bazille we discovered that the 17th is considered to be the birthplace of Impressionism Unfortunately the Café Guerbois,...More

We stayed on the border of this neighbourhood and loved it. Lovely parks for picnics, shops and local restaurants. I would consider staying here.

There's little to do in this area other than eat and sleep. It doesn't seem to have any attractions of its own but it's within reasonable walking distance of the main centre of Paris. There seemed to be a lot of roadworks going on at...More

I lived in this district for several months in the mid 70's whilst teaching English at a Language school and have returned to visit it on several occasions since. It feels safe, it is lively and has a non-touristy atmosphere. There are good cafes, which...More
