I can confirm this museum is definitely still closed as at July 2017. Disappointed that my Lonely Planet guidebook (Jan 2017 edition), didn't spot this. They're normally very accurate.

There is no evidence of a museum at this address anymore. Quite disappointed but I should have checked google BEFORE I started walking !! :) Visit d'Orsay instead. Close by.

I was really looking forward to visiting today (July 1, 2015), but upon arrival found that the doors were locked, there was no indication of this museum ever having existed at the listed address in the guidebooks, and a neighboring shop owner said the museum...More

There is a collection of manuscripts from the kings of France to De Gaulle, Kennedy, Eisenhower; but also from Einstein and many other famous scientists and writers.

So it worked out that I got into this museum for free (maybe because it's the first Sunday of the month). Beautiful letters and manuscripts from the ancient times and from important people like Van Gogh, JFK, Einstein, Dali, Hitchcock, and so on... Definitely worth...More

I was attracted to visit the Musee des Lettres et Manuscrits by a poster campaign about an exhibition on the First World War. Starting with that, it was excellent. The photos, journals etc from Louy Roux documenting his experiences during WW1 was simply breath taking....More

While it hides behind a very discreet door, it is of unbelieveable cultural value. A place where you dive into genious by looking at original handwritten notes and letters. Get a different glimpse of Mozart, Einstein, Sartre and Victor Huge!
