“Le Promenade Plantée” or the “Coulée Verte” is a 4.7km elevated Park built on the top of the obsolete in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. According to Wikipedia, it was inaugurated in 1993. We found this place while researching online and immediately thought it...More

Lovely park on an elevated railway track and the walk is about 4km, about 1hour. Lots of plants and shrubs. Not right in the centre of the city and the nearest metro station is Bastille.

Nothing special, but a nice place to stroll under and over Paris. Especially in summer time or by dawn with the lights on.

This is a garden that's been made on top of a disused railway line. It's quite long and runs from the rue de Lyon at the junction of rue Daumesnil. There are benches and I think in summer there's a kiosk. We went on a...More

Very interesting walk, not as urban as the Manhattan skyline and way longer. I would recommend visiting if this is not your first visit to Paris. If it is the first visit, there may be more interesting things to do.

A lovely 4km walk along an old railway track. I feel it would be better to wait till summer when the leaves are out. We started at Rene Dumont and walked towards The Bastille end, and I would recommend this if you are wanting to...More

Nature over the bustle of the city. Nice idea, suitable for recreation after a working day or free time for tourists Very clean!

We were in the vicinity - Bastille, Gare de Lyon, on our way to Faubourg St. Antoine - and saw this marked on our map. Well worth a detour to find a stairway leading up to this converted railway, now a green public pathway. What's...More

If you are touring Paris and want to get a break from hordes of tourists rubbing shoulders with you in crowded metros and in the usual touristy spots like The Eiffel or The Louvre, this is one of those off the beaten path things to...More

Re-purposed disused train line has become a lovely walking path above street level. Popular in summer, but also a pleasant walk in winter.

Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards
